Petition to Unlock Vanities(FoW/15k/dyes) for PvP
THIS IS A PETITION PLEASE DO NOT DISSCUSS ANY IDEAS EXPRESSED HEREIN, EITHER SIGN IT OR LEAVE IT Seriously though, there are several posts talking about this already go discuss/disagree/complain there (whichever catches your fancy)
Now that thats out of the way...
__________________________________________________ __________
-All 1.5k armor available in Droknars Forge should be available in the creation of every pvp character.
-Make 15k/FoW armors unlock once you purchase them on a pve character. Also allow for unlocking of 15k/FoW with faction.
-Make black and silver dyes available for pvp characters through faction purchase (one time purchase). Also allow for some form of dye mixing on pvp characters.
-Allow different looks for axes/swords/etc. to be unlocked with faction. PvP characters should be able to use a fellblade too, I mean at max damage the sword is only for looks anyway.
__________________________________________________ ___________
-To do most of these the faction limit needs to be raised or lifted, 10k faction max just would not work well...unless they allowed for downpayments or something, although that seems to me more work then raising the limit.
Suggested prices in Faction (finals up to Anet if they choose to do this)
-15k faction for 15k armor piece
-30k faction for FoW armor piece
-8k faction for black dye
-1k faction for silver dye
-1k faction for any weapon look
__________________________________________________ ___________
finally, this is only for looks, so I fail to see how it could upset gameplay/balance...15k and FoW armor are still expensive enough that most people will not buy them for a character they are not great at (so you still know they are good, if you are shallow enough to judge by armor...)
Once again, if you wish to discuss this go dig up my earlier post about this that got lost to the "OMG they killed my ranger team hoh Ubar Build" weekend...And great work Anet, love what you've done so far.

I play pvp, but if you want this to happen, write the code yourself.

These are really great ideas...would give players who have unlocked everything something to work towards until new skills/classes are created. Oh, and the 2 people who posted above me are pretty cleary morons.

I thought about this the other day, and thought it would be kind of cool. It's nothing urgent tho. Perhaps one day it will happen, perhaps not, but I have a feeling that this is inevitable.
To Ex Animo, I hate elitists that hate others (I know that's fallacious, but you know what I mean). I play about 80% pvp but just because I choose to play the game that way doesn't make me elitist or not. I don't come over to your house and tell you whether nor not how you play the game is good or bad, so live and let live, man.
To Lews, sure the coding won't be negligible, but I do have lots of programming experience, and I would wager that this task would take a day's work or less for a programmer that's familiar with the source of GW. I imagine there's a list of items that you can unlock, which are somehow sorted into categories the way you see them at the priest. You'd have to add a new category, point it to the lists of vanity armor, and you're halfway done. Then, update 1 screen the pvp char creation interface to include more options for armor. If this task would take more than a day's work, then the source for GW sucks and ANet or NCSoft or whoever has other problems on their hand...but I doubt their source is that bad. You'd have to make the mistakes of a stoned freshman compsci student to make something this small hard to change.

I link your line of thinking, it's a shame, you know, it makes no sense. I'm glad you supporter your assertation that they were morons with such great facts.
This is not a good idea, in my opinion. Faction is designed to give you what you need, while vanity armor is designed to show your skill in PvE. In addition, instead of "unlocking dyes", you can just buy them in PvE and transfer them over...

What skill, farming skill?
probably using a build you didnt even create, yea that show skill.....
Getting faction takes more skill than that, so i think it makes sense to unlock the vanity armours in this manner.

So why not make it an option for PVP's. What your suggesting is making a PVE charachter JUST so i can mix the colour dye i want, thats a bad idea.
I am 90% a PVE player, but i dont see why most PVE's cant see things from PVP's point of view.
Its not YOUR game, let people play just PVP if they want, they dont LIKE the PVE side so leave them to it.

ANet has handed almost everything to PvP. Please leave the few things PvE has left for itself alone.

15K and Fissure armor should stay in PvE.

I agree with Slade on this issue. Us PvE'rs need our unique quirks, kind of like something to entice you to play the PvE side. PvP'rs have gotten the permenant weekend super fun happy time or whatever it is (i dont play PvP at all, I find the leveling aspect of the game more addicting, ill leave PvP to counter-strike)

honestly I didn't think that was to complicated...I don't want your explanations, a simple yes or no works perfect, and besides some of your replies give me little hope for this community.

You have to realize that people are too lazy to search for such a thread on their own; a link or two like the RP Districts petition would have worked wonderfully. I also believe the way you addressed us had something to do with the fact that everyone is posting their apparently unwanted opinion. :O
And, no thanks. A one-word response could not justify my post, just as the bold in yours couldn't.

My post didn't make sense? Why don't you go type what I quote above into MS Word and see how many squiggly green and red lines you get.

And by the way, topic creator: You cannot post a message less than 5 words. Therefore, you cannot post a simple /yes or /no.
PvE should have some thing remain PvE-only. Having Vanities stay in PvE gives the PvE people something to show off; PvP people can show off with their high rank, fame, etc.

PvP gets instant max damage weapons and perfect mods on items, whereas we, in PvE are left with... farming them, a time consuming thing akin only to waiting to get into a Tombs group. If you spend that much time customizing your character for PvE, you deserve certain asthetic enhancements.
